Because I have always loved making use of things others chuck out, I find creating mosaics, mixed media artwork, textiles and cards from waste materials as well as things found in nature, very satisfying.  It's amazing how much lovely stuff gets disposed of especially by businesses, you just have to ask and they love you to take it away!  Turning the materials I've collected into something new is a bit addictive and I'm never happier than when messing around in my work room with a pot of glue.

The gallery here shows sold and commissioned pieces and the shop  page has items available to buy so please contact me for more information if there is anything you like.

Another way I like to prevent waste is to mend clothes.  If you live close to Shoreham and have a favourite piece of clothing languishing in your cupboard because it needs repairing, don't give up on it - maybe I can help!

I have been darning many holes in gorgeous woollen jumpers for Age Uk - the moths clearly have good taste! Buttons often go missing and hems do often come down so If something you love needs some TLC please get in touch!

I charge by the minute so it may not cost much!

Here are some reviews:

Took my little boy’s prized Batman hoodie to Denise as the zip was broken. Was a bit of a challenge but Denise went out of her way to fix it and it is even better than before! I now have a very happy little boy and will be going back if anything else needs fixing. Thank you!

Excellent service! Denise came up with a solution to my repair problem which was far superior to any ideas I had. Promptly and neatly done too, so highly recommended.

Took my coat to be mended by Denise. Absolutely delighted with the results, proper craftsmanship and speedy too! Thanks again for all your help.
PAUL, ALDRINGTON
At the age of 16 I started making photographic greetings cards showing local scenes and sold them in nearby shops and have continued to do this wherever I have lived - now in sunny Shoreham by Sea.

This led to a long and varied photographic career starting with two assistant jobs whilst studying on a four year day release course in professional photography. I began freelancing as soon as possible and really enjoyed the challenges and variety that bought.

For 18 months I was lucky enough to travel the world by working as a cruise ship photographer and then went on a six month independent tour of all my favourite places. I took so many photo’s whilst travelling that I was able to set up a picture library to sell use of them on my return alongside more freelancing.

Next I worked for many construction companies taking progress and marketing photos which was perfect for me as I love being outdoors so much. After moving to Sussex I changed tack again and sold pictures to people motor racing at Goodwood and playing golf at many clubs.

Times changed and almost everyone else became a photographer so I hung up my camera and began to take more time to pursue my love for making, growing food on my plot and mending.
